We have been working with our colleagues at Home Education Scotland to raise awareness of elective home education and its equally valid place as part of the educational landscape of Scotland, which comprises meandering byways as well as CfE highways!
As part of our ongoing collaborative work, we have prepared a series of briefings, the first of which has been sent to all MSPs with an invitation for further discussion, since all will have home educating or home educated constituents. Several have expressed interest in finding out more and, as of November 2020, we have met virtually with five MSPs who were keen to take forward some of our recommendations.
Similar briefings are being sent to the Scottish Government, council education conveners, public sector bodies and relevant third sector organisations, and will be published here in due course.
